Alternative Oral Meds To Lovenox...

are there any? I think that having to give yourself shots is pretty barbaric and think that before a doctor puts a person on warfarin the patient should be made aware of this gross and creepy shot deal when you are taken off warfarin for a procedure or surgery...when are the doctors going to bring out the leeches? I am SO MAD that I have no alternative to these stupid shots...I am needle PHOBIC which all my doctors knew about and YET here I am having to do TWO shots a day into my stomach!!! Are they insane? Sadistic? What is with the medical community???

Hello, Lucy Lou! How are you doing? I'm sorry that you're so upset.

However, if there were an alternative, you wouldn't have to do the shots, your doctor would have provided you with the other option. There just aren't any, when you need a blood thinner. Even during a hospital stay, they administer it via injection.

How long are you going to have to do them?

I'm on Lovenox for DVT and sadly they give me no hope that it will dissolve the clot.! I am so bruised and sore from these shotsand want to be off of them! Is there any oral med that will fit the bill? My husband has been giving me my shots twice a day. I'm afraid to do my own shots but feel I should learn. Are there any training sessions that the makers of this drug provides?
