If I sleep without taking a drug with soporific effect, I have electic like current beam rising from just under the back of neck as if the death approached all of a sudden. Does it owe the avoidance of the drug (for sleep) or lack of oxygen, or stenosis. Kindly help me save. Doctors consulted donot understand. Surfing web, although the symptom not quite identical found, but it revealed some information which attributes the cause to brain and heart stroke. As I am 63 years old without D.M. or BP, but diastolic dysfunksn. Kindly evaluate the problem & advose.

I am sorry, this site is not medical professionals, so we cannot possibly figure out what the problem is or suggest any solutions.

I am, however, very sorry to hear you are having a problem.

To really get an appropriate evaluation and solution, you need to see a doctor who knows any other medications you are on and inform them of your complete medical history.

As to medications for sleep, yes, they can help in some situations, but if you use them for too long, your body will become dependent on them. Then if you stop taking them, you can suffer a severe rebound effect and end up with even worse problems trying to sleep.
