Alprazolam - Difference Between Blue 1mg And Yellow 1mg Pills

I take 1mg (Blue) Alprazolam almost everyday. I always get my prescriptions from the same pharmacy. So I went to get my prescriptions and they told me it was 1 day too early, when I knew it wasn't so I took my prescriptions to another pharmacy that I've used before and they filled them with 1mg (Yellow) Alprazolam. My question is had anyone ever noticed a difference between these two medications that are Supposed to be the same??? When I finally had to take one of the Yellow ones, it didn't seem to work nearly as well as the Blue? Is it just me??? And yes, I've noticed it more than once.

What are the markings on the tablet in question? Can you please post back and clarify? This information would enable me to research these medications for you. There can be differences between generic medications.

As to being one day early, did you, or your pharmacy account for the number of days in the given month? Unfortunately, I've noticed that some don't. I'm not blaming you, or them, I'm just saying that sometimes when a month has 30 days, you may go in on the 29th day for a refill, and they say it's too soon. The same thing may occur when a month has 31 days, and so on, since most prescriptions are written as a 30 day supply.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, headache, irritability, and dizziness.

Since this is a controlled substance, some pharmacies won't fill it, until the very day you are due for a refill, as in the day you have run out.

Hey again Edde, I just wanted to say that the FDA Ok'd that generic drugs can be anywhere from 1% up to a staggering 20% difference on the strength. So, NO it's not that all Xanax are the same. There is a difference. How do you think they can sell them for 1/2 the price?
