I was just wondering if this is a cough pill and will it help a cough? ## Yes, Benzonatate is used to relieve cough. Benzonatate is in a class of medications called antitussives (cough suppressants). It works by reducing the cough reflex in the lungs and air passages. It is taken by mouth. Use is not recommended in those under the age of ten. I have taken Drixoral for over 20 something years on a seasonal bases. It helped me get through the first part of my allergies until i get a shot of cortizon and i would take Drixoral along with the shot and have no problems. I purchased my last box in April 08 and now to find out no one can get them anymore. Please bring them back and let us make the decision as to what the side affects are and if it is worth dealing with. It is worth it to me, I am in hell right now. ## For years I have had seasonal relief with Drixoral and now its not available any more. Whose brilliant idea is that? Calm down. It is a WalMart generic of Mucinex with decongestant. ## Thanks for sharing your finding on this pill ID. From what I've researched, I can definitely vouch that this is a generic form of Mucinex, known as Chest Congestion Relief DM. It reportedly contains 20mgs of Dextromethorphan hydrobromide + 400mgs of Guaifenesin. For those who may be sensitive to certain binders or fillers, I've also included a list of the inactive ingredients that are found in this tablet: magnesium stearate + microcrystalline cellulose + silicon dioxide colloidal + copovidone + maltodextrin + stearic acid Does anyone else have questions about this? ## You're pretty close. It's generic Mucinex with cough suppressant (dextromethorphan), not with decongestant.

I use to take this cough syrup when I was a kid. It was the only cough syrup that would help me. I was just wondering if it still can be bought? You had to mix it at home but I forget how. ## can i take phenergan for nausea if I am a diabetic? ## Phenergan contains the active ingredient Promethazine, and there is a risk of it interfering with blood glucose control, and it can reduce the effectiveness of Metformin for those taking it. This doesn't mean that you can't take Phenergan, but you should do so only with your doctor's approval, because you may need to adjust the dose of your diabetic medications while taking it.
