Allergic Reaction To Nambumetone

I was prescribed this medication for inflammation. I had a reaction that has lasted over a month after only taking seven pills. My skin broke out in rashes, became red and inflamed, and turned dark like it was burnt. I‘ve been itching for almost a month. Has anyone else ever experienced this while taking this medication.

I have been on Relefen, or Nambutone as an antibiotic inflammatory now for about a year or so. I am on 750ml mg. I have never had any of the symptoms that you have experienced. it sounds to me as if you are definitely allergic to the medication so I would definitely stop taking it and advise your doctor that gave you the medication about your rash and itching and maybe they can switch your medication to something that you will not be allergic to. According to the [1] NIH Nabumetone page precautions section "Nabumetone, like other NSAIDs, can cause serious skin side effects such as exfoliative dermatitis, SJS, and TEN, which may result in hospitalization and even death. Although serious skin reactions may occur without warning, patients should be alert for the signs and symptoms of skin rash and blisters, fever, or other signs of hypersensitivity such as itching, and should ask for medical advice when observing any indicative signs or symptoms. Patients should be advised to stop the drug immediately if they develop any type of rash and contact their physicians as soon as possible".

The Adverse reactions section also lists rashes among the known possible side effects of this medication.

I hope that you have seen a doctor already about this rash and if not then I recommend that you heed the NIH's warning and contact your primary care physician as soon as you possibly can as this rash could be the symptom of a much more serious underlying issue.
