Alendronate And Muscle Pain

Had muscle pain for 2 years and 10 drs didn't check the side effects of alendronate. I'm off it 7 months and still have muscle pain. Does anyone know how long it takes?

I stopped taking alendronate 3 years ago and am still having muscle pain. Will it ever stop?

Hello, Ann! I am very sorry about what you experienced. These medications really do a number on some people that take them.

Has your doctor ruled out any other possible cause for the muscle pain?

While it can be a side effect of this medication, if you stopped it 7 months ago, there should be some improvement by now. The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach pain.
