What is it for? I need to know more about alendronate sodium (NDC 0093-5171-19). ## Alendronate Sodium, also called Alendronic Acid, which is sold under the brand name Fosomax, it most commonly used to treat Osteoporosis. Side effects may include: nausea, stomach esophageal ulceration, drowsiness and joint pain.
