Alcohols With Gg 249

Hi I am concerned about a friend mixing xanax and valium with alcohol. please tell me what to look for and is it deadly

Mixing the 2 pills while not advised is not a great concern. Alcohol shouldn't be used with either medicine. Biggest concern would be when stopping use during a withdrawal?

I'm sorry, but that's not actually accurate.

Mixing them with alcohol can be of very great concern, because it has the potential to be very dangerous.

This is due to the fact that both alcohol and benzodiazepines, such as these, can cause depression of the central nervous system. This can lead to lowered heart rate, blood pressure and shallow breathing.

Thus, if the person drinks a lot and is taking high doses of these drugs, the outcome could be fatal.

Much of it is going to depend on the person and their tolerance to both the medications and alcohol. There are limits for everyone, even if they are used to high amounts of both.

Well of course the bottle clearly says that. Alcohol should not be mixed with your prescription medicine. However it is clear that you are addressing an illegal user, an abuser of prescription medicines. I'd worry more about the withdrawal effects more than mixing it with some Alcohol, but that's just me?

Verwon, if you take a moment to review my original reply to Pam I CLEARLY said Alcohol should not be mixed with either medicine? I however did not see a horrible problem mixing Xanax with Diazapam in the scope of things. Please take some time to read the post thoroughly before telling someone they are wrong?
