After using albuterol in a nebulizer for about six applications, my body - especially my hands - were shaking uncontrollably. I refused further doses, beginning 36 hours ago. The shaking is better, but still severe. Question: how long can I expect this drug to remain in my system?

That can be a normal side effect of this medication, as listed by the FDA. Other side effects, may possibly include dry mouth, dizziness, headache and insomnia.
You weren't on it for very long, so it should only take a few days for things to settle back down.
