Albendazole Side Effects - Lips Sores.

I tool this medication for one does. 10 days later I started to get pimples on my lips and around my mouth. My lips and around the mouth are covered with these sores. Is this a side effect? I never had these before and I do not have oral herpes.

Are you certain you don't have oral herpes, as in, has one of these lesions actually been cultured by your doctor to check?

A herpes simplex virus can lie dormant in the body for many years, then some medications, including this one, can suddenly wake it up and cause an outbreak.

And for anyone worried, there is nothing to be ashamed of, if you have oral herpes. It just happens and, by the time we are elderly, over 85% of the population is infected with it, it's just that many don't break out in the sores, due to a difference in their DNA. It is one little change/bend in DNA that causes some of us to experienced the cold sores that it causes. Many catch it from relatives, when they are children and never know. In reference to myself, I did get cold sores occasionally, and I mean very occasionally, like every few years, until I started taking Prozac, then it woke up the virus and I got them so bad that my face swelled and I ended up in the ER. However, the Prozac works well for me, so I continued it and take Acyclovir to prevent it from happening, again.

Anyway, otherwise, if you are sure you don't have it, this medication can cause a skin rash as a side effect, as reported by the FDA, but that shouldn't result in sores. There is also a chance that you're having a bad allergic reaction. Either way, you should have it checked out by your doctor.

I have infestation. And yes sores but not side effect. They come out of lips. Rim of ears. Top of nose and yes look like pimples. Even in my hairline vaginal. If you pick at on lips. It's like more comes. Pick more come I get it. Me to doctors for ten yrs. No pos test results. Treated twice. My research said 21 days. Then quit. Then. Wait and repeat if necessary. Plus. Bad bacteria in kidneys. So got sulfer med from doc. Haha. Quess what it's helping. So hoping between the two I find recovery from yrs of. Hope you have success.
