Afraid To Take Amox Clav 875mg

I saw a doctor today for a cat bite. He is starting me on amox clav 875 mg. After reading about it, I'm afraid to start it. I already have chronic diarrhea, and don't know what it will do to me. Does anybody actually take it and not have awful side effects?

It's basically Amoxicillin, an antibiotic. Have had to take it several times and I never got side effects.
Do you know the cat that bit you? Is it a bad bite?

The cat is mine. She got really freaked out and bit when I picked her up. It was about a week ago and is sore and swollen. I know there is something else with the amoxicillin. Read such awful side effects

Along with the Amoxicillin is Clavulanic Acid, to enhance the way it works and make it more effective.

And the side effects, including the diarrhea, are just possibilities, not everyone experiences them. The only thing you can do is try it and see how it affects you. Regardless of what antibiotic you're prescribed, most carry the risk of causing the same side effects.
