Adverse Effects Of Gabapentin

I took gabapentin, 600mg at bedtime for 4 months as a sleep aid and relief of unmanageable migraines. During treatment, the following was noted
ataxia
confusion
amnesia
going from completely awake to completely asleep with no warning or drowsiness.
odd behavior during the night of which I have no memory

After stopping the drug, I had extremely vivid dreams, sleep paralysis, auditory hallucinations, mania and hypersensitivity.

No side effects were life threatening, but the hallucinations were very real and extremely disturbing.
I've been off the drug for 10 days now and have had no more problems.

Those side effects sound very unpleasant to say the least. Glad to hear that they went away after you discontinued the medication.

Sadly enough, I don't think pharmaceutical companies care about the implications or dangers behind taking their synthesized drugs. Although, I did find details stating that if you experience a serious side effect, you or your doctor may send a report to the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program online [at fda.gov/Safety/MedWatch] or by phone [1-800-332-1088].

I'm not sure how effective it will be to report a medication or what it entails, but the FDA certainly can't ignore the seriousness of your inquiry.
