Adderall Manufactured By Teva Not Working (Page 53)

I have had two refills of Adderall 20 mg that was manufactured by Teva/barr (Teva) and it seems to have much less medication in each pill. Refills by another manufacturer work. This is ridiculous, and where do we report Teva and who can check each pill for amount for medication? I would gladly donate some of my worthless ones to the FDA?
I totally agree, I just had my Dr write for name brand, got the teva orange 30mg and they are worse than the generic brand. Absolutely no help for my ADHD.
You can request your meds to come from a specific manufacturer. That's what I have to do now. WALGREENS is great about ordering what you want and from where. You just have to give them a couple days notice.
Hi Grendel,
I read your post from June 9th about the doctor prescribing you what you refer to as "brand name Adderall." I'm sorry to bother you about this, but I'm coming to the states, I have no insurance, I have to pay cash, and I have one shot to get this right. Where I live, it's illegal to make and sell amphetamine.
Can you describe, in detail, the pill that did NOT work for you?
Color?
Shape?
All letters, numbers, and markings?
Number of milligrams?
I really don't want to pay more than $700 for something that won't help me, and just as bad, to not have any solution for at least another year.
Thank you for any info you can provide.
The Teva is their generic 30mg orange "Football." The last script I received looked larger and a bit flatter than the "Old" pills. Yes, I initially gave these a good review but that was probably due to Adderall "Holiday" I took. Subsequent dosing lost punch throughout month but I became more focused as opposed to focused, driven and mood lift. Additionally the sweet taste if these things is awful. Fast forward to this week and told my Doc I liked the Corepharma for drive but they are not clean..too many side effects indicating my body was not enjoying them. Teva had less side effects( but a wicked loss of appetite). I decided that the Adderall OR generics are too inconsistent and asked to go with the Adderall XR generic made by Shire (The inventer) and marketed by Sandoz. I figured if these were truley the exact same capsule as Shire but at a generic price this would be no brainer. Well, after 4 days I must say they have zero negative side effects. Appetite surpression, of course but none of that numbness crap with the Adderall IT generics. They are very slow to ramp up but notice a slight down feeling when wearing off. They do not last 12 hours..maybe 6. Doc gave afternoon dose too. My concentration is good and mood better but your first reaction may be these things are not working and you need more. Not the case. They have such a clean delivery sometimes you forgot your on them . I will reevaluate next month if I continue with these..hope this helps.
As I noted in another post, I'm coming to the US next week for two weeks. I haven't had my ADHD medication for 11 years, as amphetamine production and sale are prohibited in the country I live in. I have an opportunity to get at least a couple months of medication (if my doctor will prescribe it and if I spread it out over time -- I'm older now and not working, I don't need it twice a day, 7 days a week anymore).
This will be my last opportunity for at least a year or two.
I've read hundreds of comments here. From these, I've determined:
1. Corepharma currently makes an effective generic Adderall.
2. All other current manufacturers, including Teva and Barr, are suspect FOR GENERICS.
3. The Teva "brand" Adderall, stamped "dp," has mixed comments in the forums. I found only one individual who said that it did not work at all, but he did not describe in detail the pill that he took. Most other comments at least say that it works, if not quite as well as the original Shire version.
I'm on a limited budget. I'd like to get the corepharma if I can find it, but I'll pay the price of the Teva licensed Adderall (looks like about 7 times the price), if it is effective.
Please:
1. Can people comment on their experiences IN THE LAST 2 OR 3 MONTHS with these medications, as they apply to helping with ADHD symptoms? Please indicate the timeframe in your responses. I ask this because I have seen in these comments that things often change with these medications nearly from month to month.
2. I'm travelling to central/eastern Massachusetts. If anyone knows which pharmacies are selling the corepharma generic (cor 136) in that area, it could save me some very valuable time.
Thank you in advance to those of you who can help me out with any of this.
And thank you to the hundreds of you that have posted here these last few years to warn all of us and bring these issues to light.
(I had a problem with generic Adderall not working 11 years ago. It didn't work at all. When I started this investigation a couple weeks ago, I thought, "They've had 11 years to solve this. Shouldn't be a problem now. I never imagined that the problem would have grown worse instead of disappearing.)
Trey, can you tell me where you got the information that the corepharma generic adderall will stop being manufactured may 1, 2017? I can't confirm this information anywhere.
Thank you
Hampster, you said, "Has Teva changed their formula? The 30 mg pills are flater, bigger and they seem much smoother than Core and markedly more potent? Crazy how these generic meds are all over the place!"
I have several questions for you (important because I'm going to be in the US only 13 days and it is impossible to get amphetamines in the country I live in [I've been trying to solve this for 11 years]).
1. Which Teva are you referring to? The only flat ones I find in the literature are the "Adderall brand" (or dp), licensed from Shire. Are you talking about these?
2. You say they are "smooth" and "potent." What I want to know is, are they effective for ADHD? Do they help with organization, focus, motivation -- do they help someone with ADHD?
If you get this, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could respond asap. Thank you very much.
The pink generic by corepharma is by far the best. They truly helped my add, The problem is that they are no longer manufacturing the generic adderall as of may 1, 2017. Never get the generic by aurolife or aurobindo they are terrible.
Activis are in the top 3...But I have not seen them in over a year...
Its the same thing here, except CVS uses mylan, which is worse than teva. I recently been talking to my dr. about this and he wrote me a script for brand name adderall, I figured if I have to pay to feel normal than be it. It was one of the worst decisions I made regarding adderall. The teva brand actually does something since I can work long hours (contractor) and not feel like a zombie when I come home, but the brand name (which is also mfg by teva btw) didnt do anything, all day at work I was a walking disaster, like an imbecile, didnt get any work done.
Me too. It sucks. I filled IR and it was no good. Waited a month for new script and tried XR. Two doc visits and two scripts $400. Neither worked. I even used two different pharmacies. I informed Walmart and CVS but they could care less. They got my money and I got meds that don't work. I'll be ready for the legal action against teva. You can't treat people this way without consequences. Walmart and CVS and 80% of pharmacies in my area use the same distributor and it's all teva according to CVS. You can't find out who uses a different brand because it's controlled and pharmacies won't tell you over the phone. Pathetic.
I also notice the same ,i take two 20mg daily for a year and i notice tjat teva pharma, is not as syrong as before. But at least i have no side effects as bad as before. And is not tolerance. The meds are weak
I hope my comment helps at least 1 person. I've been prescribed adderall for over 2 years now, everyday taken it. I've been through this before, have done EXTENSIVE research on the topic. Generics affect people differently because the fillers & binders react different to everyone's body. I couldn't figure out why no info was consistent anywhere, i'm talking days upon days of research. I've tried them all, AuroBindo was ok, no kick/energy, without question the worst to me was Teva orange footballs 30mg when i somehow got those and some reviews on the internet said they were "the best ones" so I gave it a shot; thee worst month of my 2 years on adderall, no doubt about it (this was 11/2016). Instantly i felt withdrawals, like i became ill, i knew right away something was very wrong. And since it's all about money, pharm tech, dr's don't give a flying crap, just your money. These companies are in India & foreign countries so certain fillers & binders have negative effects on people. Simply adjust the brand. I give no craps i will not go threw that again. If the pharm tech doesn't like my request for a certain brand, i'll go elsewhere..period. As adderall patients, we have rights that are being fringed upon. Reports to FDA? HA! Great joke, no F's given. All about $. I only get pinks now tho, as i react best to them. Smile folks, it's another good day!
thing is...except for brand teva and corepharma...your gonna get sub par meds...auro is crap, teva is sugarcrap, sandoz is like that ghost of summer's past...you know he exists but for your life can't find him anywhere....beyond that...sun has a yellow 30mg that i hear sux...so call your pharmacies, don't worry about 20percent plus/minus worry that your pills will make you functional and that they are pink if you get orange, tell them no, and get your paper script back call around trust me
Has Teva changed their formula? The 30 mg pills are flater, bigger and they seem much smoother than Core and markedly more potent? Crazy how these generic meds are all over the place!
My best idea is that Teva crunched and repressed the Actavis left overs..now if there are little red dots you will know this is that garbage..
agreed the malinkroft white pills are complete crap
What do the pills say on them? Recently actavis was sold to teva and their generics all belong to teva even if the bottle says actavis... I'm just wondering if you are feeling good from them because just recently they released their replacement for their half moon pills that were recalled.
Has anyone tried Actavis Adderall? Are they better then teva brand because i fist was getting teva brand at Wal-Mart then today i ho to get my script filled and it was a different manufacturer. Is Actavis junk?
About 3 months ago I was given a script for 60 pills, 15 mg each. The ones I filled were teva from walgreens and they worked wonders for me. As it turns out this medicine is priced per pill rather than by dose so to save me some money my dr. recommended I get 30 pills 30mg each and break those in half since I take 15 mg twice a day. The same day I received the new 30 mg they did not work, they did something because I didn't have the withdrawal symptoms as I would normally have when skipping a dose, but no mental benefits whatsoever. Besides making me jittery they also gave me retinal migraines (twice in a week). About halfway thru the script I spoke to my dr. about a possible solution and he wrote me another script, this time I took it to cvs since walgreens wouldn't give me another before I finished the one I bought from them two weeks prior. The pills from cvs were mylan (round, pink and hard). Day one on the new med I felt a slight improvement but nowhere near the potency I felt from teva I had a month before. Out of the whole script I only had two days where I actually felt any benefits. The other 28 days were either in brain fog or what seemed like the pills actually made me sleepy. After finishing the script I went back to my dr. and although hesitant I got the script for the 60 pills 15 mg each like I was taking before, and just like the past 2 months there was no benefit which led me to believe that maybe it was me after all and I've just built up a tolerance. Until, one of my friends (someone that's not on any meds and doesn't take adderall) took 2 and they didn't do anything to him. And here I am, looking thru forums and the www.
