Adderall Prescription

So... my Dr. wrote my prescription for Adderall but it had a later date on it than I needed so I went back to get the right one. Meaning I have two prescriptions for Adderall and was thinking of getting the second one filled at a smaller pharmacy, no using insurance. I know you shouldn't do this so I don't need the lecture, I'm just wondering if they will be able to search and tell I already got this Rx filled a week ago. I don't incredibly abuse it. Instead of taking one 30mg tablet per day, I take closer to 3. I do not want to ask him to up my meds. My questions include - will the Dr. get a copy of the Rx from the pharmacy? Is there a database with my name on it saying dates I filled adderall? POSITIVE help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, there is a database of some kind. I recently attempted to fill a prescription earlier than my insurance allowed. I went to Costco, where they had none of my information on file, and requested to fill my prescription without insurance. I was denied. You might be able to get them to fill it at a smaller pharmacy that is a little more lax, but I'm not sure. Also, just because your doctor didn't physically take the prescription from you, doesn't mean he hasn't voided it in the system.

Also, I know you said you didn't want to ask your doctor to up your dose.. I'm guessing for personal reasons? I only ask because 30 mg/day is essentially the lowest adult dosage prescribed. I used to go to a pretty strict doctor (when it came to prescriptions anyway) and she had no problem upping my dosage a little when I explained to her that I had developed a tolerance and that 30 mg/day wasn't cutting it.

You won't be able to get the prescription filled this soon. Each state also has laws on how long a Schedule II prescription is valid. Each state has a Prescription Monitoring Program. By law, Pharmacists have to report all Schedule II prescriptions that are filled. The info the databases have includes but is not limited to your name, date the rx was written, name and mg of med, date it was filled, how many days it should last, the name of the dr that wrote it, how it was paid for, etc. Drs also can look patients up in the database. Pharmacist have to look up patients in the database before filling a Schedule II prescription. This applies to All pharmacies and All pharmacists. It doesn't matter if you've never been to that pharmacy before or if you're paying cash. So even if you could get it filled, your dr would know about it.

30 mg is not the lowest adult dose of Adderall that drs prescribe. The dosage depends on the individual. If you're taking 60 mg more daily than is prescribed, you have a drug problem.

Well idk if I am doing anything wrong but my intern dr filled my 30 mg addrrell n I told him that my physc dr. filled this for the last 4 yrs and my intern n physic dr's are great friends, but the inter dr told me that I filled your adderall for yrs and it's going to stay that way. Then I saw my physc dr. cause I don't want to be accused of being a drug seeker I told him that dr. filled these and my physc dr said I'm the one that figured out u had this and sent me to another dr. That gave me a 5 hour analysis and didn't even finish. Well I had to finish the rest of the evaluation for insurance crap, but half-way through he told me that I should have been evaluated yrs ago cause u have it pretty bad. Anyhow, so my physc dr. let me talk to my other dr. and just go ahead and get my script filled.

I also told him that would make me at 60mg a day and he said if it were up to him he would have me on 120mg cause he told me that I have it that severe and he checking into putting me on a nose spray and I never heard of adderall nose spay n my physc dr is very strick with the meds so I'm shocked but I must say that I have been doing better in school on 60mg n. I have never been question at the pharmacy I go to and I have done the insurance on one dose n took the other to another place and paid cash, used an rx card, found out that it was cheaper than my insurance prices sob well until I hit my deductible.....So it worked fine here in missouri n. I've been doing this going on my 5th month. I told the pharmacy that I get the same script. He said, is it from another dr... I said yes and he goes as long as both dr's know about it u are fine...And the person above telling another poster if there on 60mg they have a drug problem now really how could you tell someone else that u don't have any idea what that person is going through or anything bout their situation. That's so wrong in so many different ways. I have known people taking 90mg a day, more than one also. So shame on you, sounds like your jealous even if you are a dr. or a nurse, without knowing that person how can you say that? Woooooow that just totally blows my mind when people are quick to say what you saying. That tells me that maybe you have a drug problem. That's all I'm going to say about that.
