Adderall Backorder (Page 86)

I take generic Adderall 20 mg for narcolepsy and there is not one local pharmacy that has it in stock. I have never had this problem before. The pharmacies are saying that it's on backorder from the manufacturer. Is anyone else having problems getting their scripts filled?

Lol, I live in Bradenton and have been to 2 different Walgreens, Sam's, & Walmart . They all say there is a shortage.

Hey KC I live in St. Cloud Fl. ..I have been trying to fill my Adderall 20mg script since January! !! I havr been to EVERY pharmacy from name brand to mom and pops in a 70 mile radius and have been unable to find it. You were lucky! I have also checked the fda site and its not listed...I filled out a drug shortage form while on the site though. I just had to have my daughter's pediatrician change hers to Vyvanse bc of this (huge price difference! ) I see my doctor tomorrow and may have to change also...I'm a nurse and its hard enough with day to day activities without having to actually use my brain when at work and not on my medications! People should never have to be without medications..no matter what it is! Good luck to everyone.

AHHHH, not liking the sound of things again and I am due for my refill and have neither the time, patience, or gas to be driving around AGAIN , only to be told "BACKORDER." Geezus, I checked the FDA website and they are not on the shortage list so WTF? *UPDATE* from my last post, I found my last months script at Walmart, amazingly, BUT, they are made by a manufacturer that I have never used before , and they are white instead of the usual orange, and it may be a mind thing, but I SWEAR they do not work as well. The brand is called MAL..and I am not sure what it stands for. This is really getting out of hand and more and more frustrating. I live in Altamonte Springs, Florida (Orlando) and I hope I can find them somewhere, does anyone have any leads on info or where they have them around here? Thank you! :) Best of luck to all!

I use to use hospital pharmacies also. I didn't know they would stock adderall but they are a full pharmacy. What brand did they carry? I was told that the out of stock problem would be over now and regular stock should be available. I sure hope so. :-) I don't have the time to worry about how to get my medication. It's so ridiculous.

I live in Phoenix and I've called 10 different pharmacies and they all said the same thing. . .This is absolutely INSANE!!! The only place that had it was Target, I filled mine (Generic 30mg XR) but it is CRAP. I even called TEVA and they told me there is all the sudden a higher demand than supply (BS). So I went to the FDA website and they aren't listing ANY shortages for Adderall XR or its generics, But you can send an email telling them about it and I'm sure if they get enough emails they will have to list some announcement on the site. I'm in Lee County also Cape/ft Myers area, I know where to fill adderall but cash no insurance of course! I filled 90 20mg tabs for $2 each, worth not worrying about gas and running around? Perhaps.. DOES ANYONE KNOW PLACES THAT TAKE MEDICAID AND HAS/HAD IN STOCK, RECENTLY OR CURRENTLY.. THX FOR ANY INFO

I live in Jax and was just prescribed 20 mg today. I have called aroudn to 20 different pharmacies all with the same bs story. They are on backorder for 3-4 weeks and when they do get it in its gone in 24 hours. What kind of crap is this?

Sandoz.. Ahh the brand Costco carries and I never tried. After experiencing different strengths and results from the diff brands I didn't want to chance a brand I never tried.. I take the IR but want to try the ER or XR. Might talk to my doc this month about trying it. They say generic meds can only be like 2% off. But all actuality and it's a fact from doctors and tests done. That many brands of generics are off as much as 20% and potency is for sure an issue as some ingredients loose potency , esp in pain meds so when made, if they active ingredients were on the shelf a little longer then they made the med. the actual pill is older then it's produced date. I did a lot of research on this and most all doctors agree that the equivalency is just not the same. Sucks they can do that. Oh, I'm. 33 b.t.w. :-)

i'm 48 =D and you? funny you should mention this cuz the strange thing about diff brands working differently is, IT IS STRANGE! lol. i know that feeling! i've always been imparshal to Teva with pain meds when i was taking'm! lol. i also like the ER's of Aderrall better but don't have a certain liked brand yet, altho Core pharma doesn't seem to stick very long in MY system. my current script is Sandoz, who i've never heard of haha. are you on the IR or ER's?

Yeah, I know, it's a shame that people robbing pharmacies and taking advantage any way they can... And yes, I am a member of Costco. They were out. The last time they had in stock they had a different brand , I forget the brand. I am us to corepharma and Teva/Barr. And I can tell a difference between the two. Both say 20mg but the strength is diff on both. Strange. I found that 10 mg of Corepharma and 10 mg of Barr works better then 20 of either or. Very strange. :-). Yes we are close. Prob about 2 miles :-) I used to have a house in the Colony on Daniels ...How old are you?

WOW that's close lol! i live off Daniels & off Metro! if you go to your regular pharmacy where they know you more, they SHOULD tell ya what mg they have & if they'd have enough for you. are you a member at Costco?!? they're usually pretty good. well, hopefully Feburary will bring us better luck, i'm already stressed about it. . . . :-)
i'm gonna ck with my pharm b4 my dr. appt to see what's available! lol

Oh, yes.. I did see your post... I asked the pharmacy if I were to get a different strength would it look like I might have a chance to fill. I know that can't say but just wanted to see if it looked possible, as it's a pain to get my dr to change the script and then find out they don't have it. I did that 3 times last time this happened. Oh. I live in community just off of 6-mile cypress ,south of colonial blvd :-) and you?

Yes, I was able to... I stopped at a place that normally NEVER has it due to there demand, but just happened to get it in that day and I pulled to the drive up window , expecting the normal "no, everyone is trying to find" but was shocked to hear , sure thing! It will be 10 min!! I almost crashed my car I was so caught off guard. After driving to 20 pharmacies all over Cape Coral and Florida I was happy. Such nonsense that a legally prescribed drug is so hard to find and you can't call you have to go in. It's not like it is pain meds. No one ever robbed a pharmacy for adderall (from what I know lol) but I understand the control for class meds and the laws. Just a pain to fill sometimes. I though it was over back 13-14 months ago when the last drought happened. Thanks for all the advise :-)
