Adderall Backorder (Page 12)

I take generic Adderall 20 mg for narcolepsy and there is not one local pharmacy that has it in stock. I have never had this problem before. The pharmacies are saying that it's on backorder from the manufacturer. Is anyone else having problems getting their scripts filled?

I just checked the FDA listings and the listing is for amphetamine aspartate which is different. Its similar but not the same compound. I called teva pharmaceuticals and they let me know that it is not on back order fro their end that it is a problem with the pharmacy's wholesaler. they also let me know that there is no pan on discontinuing the medication.

Honestly, it all sounds fishy to me. I am guessing that there is probably some illegal distribution going on behind the scenes. It has had such a dramatic impact that NO ONE has answers to that I imagine an explanation will surface soon. Either that or they just have s***ty wholesalers that don't know how to do their job of meeting supply n demand.

it can't be "every single pharmacy's" fault. i work at Costco and they always (mostly) have all meds in stock. i too have been EVERYWHERE and they're all out with the same "unknown eta" answer. except MY pharmacy, Monday they said they'd be getting it Friday (( 1/31/14 tomorrow! =D )). dunno what mnfgr it'll be, IF they do get it, but will let ya'll know what happens! i researched as well and Teva had no answer for shortage. the site said end of Jan. should all be available though! hope so, good luck all!!! =D

Please let me know if anyone can fill in Orlando. I've heard some people being told the end of the month. Then again after reading these post it sounds like no one knows exactly what's the problem is. Sucks !!!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I did just get my script filled finally!!! I went to Walgreens. Thank you everyone for all your information let's hope we don't have this problem again.

hey Angie,
i'm in fort myers an there's been nothing here either i did finally get mine today, luckily i asked my pharmacist about other mgs. when she came to my counter to pick something up. i had to get a rescript from 20 to 10mgs tho cuz that's all Costco had. wish they'd told me this last week lol. the pharmicist said no 20mg till maybe mid feb. but i dont care as long as i can get them in 10mg & just dbl. so, did your walgreens say anything about the back order? will you have problems next month?

Hey Sharon, i didn't ask I was surprised they had it. I was there filling another script so I just happened to throw that one in when she said yes they would have them both ready I was pretty shocked but happy I may add. Good luck everyone

Hello,
I am in Fort Myers too.. Been trying to fill my 20 mg script qty 90 (would even take a partial fill) for 2 weeks, NOTHING! Please let me know if you found a place or what you recommend, it would be greatly appreciated, Have a GREAT day! :-)

TEVA brand is out all over here in Phoenix. but I was able to find CorePharma brand which I prefer anyways. BUT just for fun I went to Walgreens first and tried to get my 20mm with 90 quantity. and of course I was told is on backorder because they only get TEVA now. I told the pharmacist that I found my 20 milligram CorePharma anyways and started to leave. The pharmacist then pleaded with me to tell her where I found it so she could tell her customer base where to find it. I told her why would I want to tell you so that you in turn would run out my suppliers stock for me...I LMAO my way out the door!

Cvs pharmacist told me that they have only a certain amount they are allowed to fill each month. They told me the new order should be in by thurs or Friday.

I think, for the most part, the suppliers are restocking on a regular basis now. What u have to consider is that each pharmacy has a monthly supply limit, and I'm sure it goes fast. The beginng if the month is probably the best time to fill
