Adderall 30mg Xr By Shire (Top voted first)
UpdatedDoes anyone know the color of the beads that are instant release in the Shire 30 mg. I am trying to find this out because the long acting beads stay active to long preventing sleep and the Shire Brand is the only decent Adderall. I believe the two colors are white and a orange lookin beige. It would be pain staking to separate them but worth getting the 15 mg IR out of the 30.

My physician has written several prescriptions of instant release given me 3 at a time to see how they work. This was after the Activist was recalled. Most didn't like that brand but a least when it wore off I knew I could sleep. Now I have tried Teva, Core, and Aurobindo. They either didn't work, caused bad side effects or lingered in the body past the stimulant phase to prevent sleep. I knew Shire brand worked but I could not sleep at all. That's the reason I wanted to separate the beads.
hi adderall patient....i am an adderall patient, as well, and i take the adderall XR 30 mg, too - the Shire brand name. i am curious as to the answer to your question! i've been taking adderall for over 5 years and have taken several different kinds. hands down, i completely agree with you on Shire being the ONLY decent version out there. when i first started taking adderall, as with most patients, i started off taking the IR version. it didn't take me long to know i would need the XR version. i must have a high tolerance or metabolism because the IR wore off for me much too early and i couldn't take the crash. i have never had trouble sleeping taking the XR, other then maybe the first week or so but that was a long time ago. when i had better insurance i was able to take an ideal combination of XR in the morning and later in the day, on days when i had longer work days, i also had the IR version for "as needed" when the XR wore off after 8-10 hours. now i am only able to take the XR version so i do take it as early as i can.
i don't know how good your eyes are, but have you looked at the 2 different beads side by side to see which bead looks like it has a thicker coating on it? i am going to see if i can tell a difference. i would assume that the colored bead that appears to have a thinner coating, hence perhaps maybe making it look smaller, would be the IR bead, don't you think?
Re: Adderall Patient (# 2)
What happens if you crush the beads? Wouldn't that makes them instant release?
It would actually be much easier and safer to ask your doctor to prescribe the regular release formulation.
