It is a pill. One side is white and one side is a light yellow. the white side has 800 imprinted and the yellow side has Adams imprinted.

I located a similar match to a oval shaped pill with Adams on the yellow side and 600 on the white side, could this be your pill? If so it's Mucinex DM Extended-Release, which is an expectorant drug sold over the counter and usually taken by mouth to assist the bringing up (expectoration) of phlegm from the airways in acute respiratory tract infections.
