Adalat Retard Side Effects
UpdatedI have been taking 10mg twice daily for 25 years. My new G.P. has now raised it to 30 mg.once daily after only two high b.p readings. I started with 30 yesterday morning and have felt unwell all day. Also awful headache that I cannot get rid of. I am concerned how long is this going to continue as I have several other health problems. Thanking you.

Hello, Jane! How are you?
All medications carry the risk of causing side effects and it would be normal to experience them again, when the dosage is raised.
The FDA lists the ones you've mentioned as being typical for this medication, which contains Nifedipine. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, increased urination and hypotension.
It may take 4 to 5 weeks, for the side effects to taper off and go away. If they do not, then you should consult your doctor.
Is there anything else I can help with?
