I got this in Mexico for a UTI. I am taking 1 tablet every 8 hours. But for how many days?

Hi Barbara,

The number of days you take something is usually determined by your prescribing doctor and/or the pharmacist who dispenses the medication. It would also depend on how many pills you were given... However if you had gotten them over-the-counter in Mexico, then I can see how that information may not have been properly conveyed...

That said, I can only speak from my own personal experience taking various types of antibiotics for general bacterial infections, in that I'd usually take anywhere from 1 to 3 tablets a day until I run out.

In your case, at a rate of 1 tablet every 8 hours, that would be 3 tablets per day until you run out.

I hope this helps. But please be sure to consult a local doctor or pharmacist if you have any other concerns about your UTI; for if the infection is not dealt with properly then it could potentially come back stronger...
