In one of the chats someone was saying APAP stood for Acetaminophen & Propoxyphene, which makes sense considering the initials, and in all your other answers you say APAP stands for Acetaminophen (only). Why have you dropped the Propoxyphene from your other answers & what the heck is Propoxyphene anyway? I take a generically filled prescription of Fioricet & APAP is one of the listed ingredients. ## Hi Pamela - APAP is ONLY Acetaminophen (aka Tylenol) and has nothing to do with Propoxyphene. "Paracetamol, also known as acetaminophen or APAP, is a widely used over-the-counter pain medication and antipyretic (fever reducer)." [1] By the way, Darvocet propoxyphene was discontinued in the US in 2009: "In January 2009, an FDA advisory committee voted 14 to 12 against ...

I have a pill that says 10 and also says oxy under it. Can I take acetaminophen with it ## Hello, Snoopy! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by Pro Doc and they list it as containing 10mgs of Oxycodone. The U.S. FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Yes, you can take Acetaminophen with it, if your doctor approves, but you shouldn't take it otherwise, because it can potentiate the efficacy of the Oxycodone. found a bottle of tynol, the date is expired, is it safe to take, still have a bottle left. ## No, Acetaminophen does not get dangerous after the expiration date, however, it may have lost potency, so it may not work as well as it did when it was new. Too much, however, can be very dangerous, so it is not safe to try to take more of it, to achieve the same results. Do you have any questions? ## If acetamenophen has lost potency due to age, why is it dangerous to take more to get the same effect? ## I had a doctor tell me yesterday NEVER to take expired Tylenol. Pharmacist said today also not to take expired aspirin or antibiotics. Other drugs amy/will lose potency.

I have gone from a pill to a shot for type II diabetes. When I first started taking shots I was already taking hydrocodein 3X 10/325 per day. Once I started the shots I started getting a rash on my left arm and right leg. I tried all the insulans available and ended up with Humalog 75/25 mix, this being the one that was working with the least amount of rash symptoms. I still have the rash, could this be the Acetaminophen causing the remainder of the rash? I eat with my medication and in fact eat4 to 5 times per day, I'm exercising 1 hour per day at least 5 days a week to the point to where I sweat. When I sweat it seams to not be as itchy, any i...

patient is using HMP and suspen ER what are these medications? ## Hello, Diane! How are you? From what I've found, Suspen ER is a time released formulation of Acetaminophen. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness and headache. As to the HMP, that is actually a logo for a Korean pharmaceutical manufacture, not the name of a medication. The pill should have HMP on one side and some other markings on it that would enable it to be identified. Can you ask the patient and post back?
