Doctor prescribed Tylenol #4 for shingles pain. Can Tylenol #4 be split in half? There is too much codeine in a whole one. It makes me light headed and nauseous. ## To the person asking about splitting Tylenol # 4 in half as it is making you feel nausea. My advice would be to make sure you're not talking it on an empty stomach, as with most pain medications they should be taken with food, however, always read and follow any prescriptions directions and understand their side effects. I would immediately stop taking the medication and consult your Doctor to insure your not taking any conflicting medications; or try a synthetic pain reliever such as Hydrocodone, as many people are allergic to Codeine. Personally however I think Codeine/tylenol # 3 and #4 are junk drugs that's uses ...

Along with the 325mgs of Acetaminophen already mentioned, it also contains 2mgs of Chlorpheniramine, 10mgs of Dextromethorphan and 5mgs of Phenylephrine, per tablet. As the nighttime formulation, that means there is a very high probability of this causing drowsiness as a side effect. Are there any other questions or comments? wt are the side effects if we take 6 combiflame at a time ## Combiflam contains Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen, so depending on the dosage, yes, taking that many at a time, especially if you add more throughout the day can be seriously harmful. It is very dangerous to exceed 4grams (4000mgs) of Acetaminophen in a day, so if your tablets contain 500mgs of Acetaminophen each, then you are already at 3grams (3000mgs) just taking 6 tablets, so if you add more then you are going over the maximum safe daily amount, Acetaminophen is very dangerous in large quantities, it can cause severe organ damage and death. ## i want to die. so please let me know hiw many combiflam can i take?? ## I took 5 combiflam tablets in one go..i am 14. What flu medication can I get that has no acetaminophen? I can not take it. I am sick and need some medication to take so I can work. ## Why can't you take Acetaminophen? As to the Flu, are you sure that is what you are suffering from? Are you on any other medications? Do you have any diagnosed medical conditions? I'm sorry, but more information is needed in order to provide an accurate answer to your question. So, they both contain the same amount of the active narcotic, Hydrocodone, but they do not contain the same amount of Acetaminophen, which improves the effect of the narcotic. I need an extended relief med, I have Hep C so do not want any acetaminophen and all this info is coming from the pharmacist I need to find an alternative extended relief pain medication in lieu of morphine or anything with acetaminophen due to my Hep C liver condition; currently applying for disability and all of this is coming from the pharmacist not the actual doctor. ps I live in FL ## Hello, Beckie! Hey. I just had surgery (tonsils burned & removed) and the dr prescribed me Acetaminophen with Codeine in it. I've been instructed to take 15mL every four hours as needed. Is that 4 times a day? ## Hi Brittany, 4 goes into 24 hours (1 day) six times. This means that "every 4 hours" translates to 6 times a day. However, "as needed" means that you don't necessarily have to abide by that regimen if you don't feel the need to take it as often. Here's an example of how you could space it out evenly over a waking day, assuming you are awake from 6am to 10pm: 6 am (right after waking up) 10 am (mid-morning) 2 pm (early afternoon) 6 pm (evening/dinner time) 10 pm (shortly before going to bed) If you have any other questions concerning an appropriate dosing pr...
