Abusing Oxycodone Harms Real Patients

Unfortunately it's the addicts that ruin the whole rx for pain for people who have serious problems with pain and can barely function without them. I've had 2 back surgeries and a year after my last one, still that didn't make all the pain better. Now most pain management clinics do not give rx for oxycontin. I've been taking oxycodone 30mg for 7 years and it helps a little but I need to move up to 80mg contin.

Unfortunately, you are correct. Illicit users and abusers have causes these issues, which leaves many people to suffer and be miserable; and no one deserves that.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

That's a pretty big jump to take, however. Maybe your doctor would be more receptive to a smaller dosage raise?
