Hello, Patrick! How are you?
They may help, since they are broad spectrum antibiotics, but it would be best to see your dentist and have them suggest the best antibiotic to take.
The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
However, an antibiotic will not help with whatever issue has caused the infection, such as a cavity, impacted tooth, or etc. So, you will still need to see your dentist to have the problem corrected.
Is there anything else I can help with?
