Abscessed Tooth And Clindamycin

I started taking Clindamycin 36 hours ago for a tooth infection. Still in extreme pain and more swelling tonight. When will the Clindamycin start helping my infection?

If you have been taking it for more than 24 hours and the infection/swelling has worsened, that most likely means it is not working and you may need to try a different antibiotic.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.

Was this prescribed for you by your doctor, or dentist? Are you on any other medications?

I have a large gum abcess from a bad tooth and the dentist put me on clindamycin 150 hcl this is my 2nd day of using it and I'm not sure after reading simular post if I should take it more than 2 capsules every 8 hours. This thing is annoying and really painful but if I were to take 3 capsules every 8 hours would help the problem.
