Apo Vs. Pli?? (Top voted first)
UpdatedWhen I refilled my perscription for Trazadone, I though the pills looked different. they are small white round pills with a split line and PLIVA 433 stamped on them. The old ones were oval I think. The old bottle says Trazodone 50 mg Tablet APO. The new one says Trazodone 50 mg Tablet PLI What is the difference?

Only the manufacturer! PLI on the new pills stands for Pliva Pharmaceuticals and the other ones were made by Apotex.
Most pharmacies will switch according to whomever provides the cheapest option when they have to reorder. The medication, however, is the same.

There IS a difference! I have experienced tachcardia every night since switching from Apo to Pli. I am not happy!
I have also felt jittery and had more problems sleeping on the pliva pills than with the apo pills
The problem with this may be due to a slight variation in the amount of the active ingredient.
Under federal law, they are allowed to differ in the active ingredient by as much as plus or minus 20%, the FDA considers this a safe and affective therapeutic window.
The result is, you sometimes get medications that have a little more or a little less than the one made by another company.
I can't say for certain this is causing the problems you are experiencing, but it is a possibility.
You can try asking the pharmacy if they can get it the one made by the other company for your next refill or see if other pharmacies in your area carry it.

i was taking a percocet dosage of, i think 602? or maybe it was 512, anywho i have a newer prescription of a PLIVA 434 pill and i am not sure if it is stronger than the percocet. can you let me know if you are sure which is more effective. thanks
I was taking apo-trazodone 25mg for sleep, and it worked perfectly. Then they switched me to novo, another generic brand, and it doesn't work almost at all.
I've asked around pharmacies, it turns out Apo has been discontinued by the manufacturer, along with every Brand name of trazodone. They are only selling the generics, and not the Apo generic that works for me.
Any suggestions on how to figure out which generic might actually work like the Apo did?
Thanks!
