my wife took albendazole (1 tablet -400mg) on 10th sept. However we stopped using contraception a week before the 10th. Her periods start around 1 week from today (14th Sept). Will this tablet affect her fetus in case she gets pregnant? Kindly advise.

Yes. This will harm your baby. According to my drug information sheet for Albendazole from Kaiser: "During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. It may harm an unborn baby. Women of child bearing age should have a negative pregnancy result before starting this medication. If you become pregnant, or think you may be pregnant, tell your doctor immediately. it is recommended that men and women using this medication use TWO effective forms of birth control (e.g., condoms and birth control pills) while taking this medication and for 1 month after stopping the medication. Consult your doctor for more details and to discuss reliable forms of birth control. It is not known if this medication passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast feeding."

Maybe my story with albendazol is useful for others:

I took albendazol from 29.04.2018 till 8.06.2018. On 08.06.2018 I discovered that I was pregnant in the fifth week. So I stopped taking albendazol and then on 23.06.2018 I found out that my fetus had no heartbeat.

Albendazol is very dangerous during the first trimester of pregnancy.
