I am with you CMA. I too am an addict and went back out after discovering my husband had lung cancer. He let me take some of his pills for other reasons but the truth of the matter is that I did not want to have to deal with his dying without some type of relief. I know this sounds very selfish and it was, but I made the choice and am still making that choice today. It sucks and now I am at the point of fear from withdrawals. Been there and it sucks!

You should NEVER EVER EVER flush medications down your toilet. Those medications get into the water supply and can cause major problems. You should wait until your local news advises of a medicine turn in day. You can take in old medications and they will be disposed of properly.

Get over yourself!!! GOD isn't the reason all good things are good. You ever think maybe things change or get better when the person themselves decide to change them. Why are all you Bible Thumping I****s running around saying "Let go and let God" all the time. You are all f***ing invalids and I wish you could hear how ignorant that sounds. A persons choices result in good or bad results. That has absolutely nothing to do with any kind of higher power. It's just life.

about the whole pills in the toilet thing.....its true...look up reports about lake mead and the estrogen in it from birth control pills.......and then look up reclamation of effluent water....its why city water tastes like piss........mr mackay said it best on south park........drugs are bad!;0

This is hydrocodone and aspirin. Another name for it is Vicodin. It does make you high and has potential use for abuse if not used as directed.

Those pills are hydrocodone/acetamenophin 7.5/325. I am prescribed them for chronic pain (plus they have a little kick if you're having a bad day). I wouldn't be too worried about though. Just make sure your teen is safe and knows not to base his ENTIRE life around drugs. I did (and occasionally still do) some drugs, but the reliability of the source or overall toxicity of the drug should never be over looked. Marijuana will not kill you or make you "dumb" and neither will taking a pill. I've never done any "hard street drugs" like methamphetamine or H, but that's the type of thing I would be worried about my teen for, not a few pills. Just be understanding when confronting him/her about them. Tell them that you do or do not approve of them doing said drug, and make sure they understand the difference between drug USE and drug ABUSE; and there IS a difference. They are going to find a way to get their hands on something to feel high regardless, just make sure they are aware of MODERATION!

In 2013, THE TOP 11 PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES (only the top 11, not including the 1,000's of others) made $85 Billion.

I've been addicted. I fought tooth and nail to quit... The problem is... the government creates 1,000's of new Pharmacies a year, and will continue to make the most addictive & extreme pills possible. They are s invested that you could call this a "regulated epidemic"

Well, I'm assuming they were concerned at what their teenager had! And they have every single right to ask about It. That's called a good parent. Then after doing so, the flushing should come.

Im soooo in your shoes, ive been through so much BS in my life since I was 6yrs. And now I suffer from PTSD and Nuropathy and I too have tryed to get help but it has NOT worked, if u have any suggestions please let me KNOW ASAP

You're not supposed to flush pills down the toilet. Bring them to your local police station to dispose of them properly.

Yes I can relate. To what you are saying about being numb.yes. I am an addacic. To be gain I started. After I was molested. At 12 yrs of age,gang raped at the age of 35.I started. Out getting. Drunk and piping a Ajax and then to pain pills.if know body. Knows. What a person goes thru with pads it is steerable.after all the bad an a full things a person has seen or been treated. Yes you don't want to feel nothing just so you want have flashbacks of these events.it's terrible. To day I am an addict. But I am but not by choice. I pray each and everyday that god will take this addiction. And my pain from all the traffic events. I live with everyday.so you are not alone.

I also became addicted to opiates after 2 c-sections that went badly. With my first child, the surgical incision busted open after 5 days out of the hospital. With the 2 child I had bad scar tissue from the first surgery. The doctors gave me several prescriptions throughout the whole healing process and then one day all of a sudden, cut me off and said I was healed enough not to need them. I suffered severe withdrawal symptoms and ended up buying more opiates. It is a vicious cycle that sometimes is perpetuated when someone has an injury or severe surgery complication.
