875 Mg Amox For Strep

Taking 875 mg of amox for strep. On since sun it's wed now I have a cold and my throat hurts again. My nose is running and blowing clear?

An antibiotic will not treat or prevent a cold, so yes, it is entirely possible to still get one, while taking it. Antibiotics are only effective at treating or preventing bacterial infections, such as the strep that it was prescribed to treat.

However, the common cold is actually caused by a virus.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
