80mg Er

I have been taking Inderal LA 80 for about 25 years and it has really controlled my tachycardia and palpitations. But insurance is getting less and less on coverage and I am thinking of switching to the generic Propranolol ER 80. I just don't want to take the chance that it will not to the exact same as the Inderal. Has anyone switched and seen a difference? I'm really nervous to switch, but the cost is getting prohibitive.

Have you discussed it with your doctor, or pharmacist?

They may know from other patients, of a particular manufacturer that's reliable. There can be some fluctuations in the active ingredient of generic medications, but it's very small and usually only affects people that are very sensitive to medications.

I was switched to the ER from the SR Propanolol and the ER gave me nightmares.

I took Inderal LA 80m for many years, switch to Propranolol LA 80m, they worked the same. Now I just received propranolol ER 80m, they said they are the same just new manufacturer, totally different. Iv been getting headaches, heart palp,shaky and just feel very different.
