80 Mg Oxycotin

I have been on oxycotin 80 mg tid approx.. 14 yrs. I doesn't work as well it does not take care of my pain like it use to. The dr. even gave me about a yr ago oxycodone 15 mg aid. It still is not working .If I was put on dialaudid pills what would be the equivalentand wouldn't it help my pain? I have sever degenerative osteoarthritis all over with a total knee thus far.

Hello, Jr! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain.

An equivalent dose of Dilaudid to the Oxycontin you take would be 90mgs a day and it's usually not used in such high doses.

You may do better with the Fentanyl patch, it's a very potent narcotic and each patch lasts or 2 to 3 days.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Thus, you may want to ask your doctor about trying it.
