7 Day Supply (30 Pills) Refilled Once A Month
UpdatedHello, I live in Arizona, where state law limits physicians to prescribe opiates for non-chronic pain at no more than a 7-day supply each month. My monthly prescription for hydrocodone is 30 pills, to be taken one Every Six Hours, only as needed. (These 30 pills are legally considered a 7-day supply). Since I don't need them very much, my prescription is refilled just twice a year, totaling 60 pills a year. But that's not the reason for my comment here, which is that I'm wondering why so many people don't seem to know that one day equals 24 hours, and they're asking questions like, for example - "If my prescription is for one pill every six hours, then how many pills is that in one day?"
Have these folks lost the ability to do simple math? The average fifth grader could even figure it out for themselves, but apparently many if rhe questioners here, either can't or won't.

Sorry for the misspells. Thank you.
I think it's really due to the fact that most people are intimidated by medications, and medical terminology, thus sometimes they become confused, and aren't sure if numbers in medicine work the same as they do in other situations.
As an FYI for the record, according to all FDA and NIH research, I want to assure everyone that they do work the same. HIgher numbers mean a higher dosage, lower ones a lower dosage, and the division of a day of 24 hours remains the same. Exactly as this poster has stated.
Sadly, I have also encountered some recent cases where people haven't been taught to count backwards, so unfortunately, some really can't do basic subtraction, or division.
As an example, I was checking out with some groceries, one day, my total was a little over $17, so I handed the girl a $20 bill. right as I did, the computers went down due to a storm..... and she had no idea how to figure out my change, without the computer telling her what it should be. She flat out said they aren't taught how to count backwards, so I had to wait until another girl came over that did know how to do it and could figure out my change (who still had to use a calculator). There was an elderly gentleman in line behind me and we both had raised eyebrows over that statement.
This is just one example, but I'm sure you get the idea.
Often, our U.S. schools worry too much about standardized testing, now, and not practical applications for real life.
Has anyone else encountered such issues?
I live in Arizona, of course I have Chronic pain from 10 surgeries on my left foot including an amputation. You just need to find a pain management clinic. Some doctor's only prescribe low amounts. But believe me the amounts you are being prescribed is not the Arizona limit!

they don't know math and you can't spell!
Why didn't you just tell them to take 4 a day!
