I have been taking 60mg ms contin extended release 3 times a day + 30mg oxycodone immediate release 4 times a day. Recently my doctor changed the oxycodone to morphine 30mg immediate release. He also added lyrica 75 mg and I also take baclofen 10mg & amitriptyline 50mg in which i take 2. I'm still in constant pain. I was shot 8 yrs ago and I still hardly feel relief. What will help me?

Hello, Shy! How are you?

Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so the dosages are not equivalent, which likely explains why you are in pain.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

As to the Lyrica, that may take 4 to 5 weeks, before it reaches its full level of efficacy in your body to see if works for you to alleviate your pain.

Did the doctor give any reason for the sudden change?
