It depends on what you are using it for, and the safety would depend on other pre-existing medical conditions as well as other drugs you may be taking for any other conditions. Ask your pharmacist to check for any possible interactions and if you have questions, you could always consult with the prescriber. I am taking a cold medicine at the moment that contains 120 mg of psuedoephedrine, I take it every 4 hours and have had no adverse reactions. Hope this helps some.

Is that the dosage of the given pill? It really depends on what your doctor thinks is safe for you, and what condition is being treated, as well as other conditions like Cheryl advised.

The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache nervousness, headache, and insomnia.

I think that 60 mg is the highest available does of the standard tablet. The extended release comes in up to 240 mg. As the others have said, the safety of a 60 mg dose is entirely dependent on your medical history and the specific approach your prescribing doctor is taking. As of 2018, can you even get pure pseudoephedrine prescribed anymore? I don't remember if there was a crackdown. Heck, grocery stores keep all OTC products containing psuedo locked up now.
