Updatedjust started getting them and not sure how they will make me feel. they"re blue and have 48/12 on one side an a v on tha other side.
Damn straight I have been a chronic pain patient for 17 years. I have been treated like a worthless junkie just for picking up my medicine that helps me walk. It's a huge embarrassment because other people have abused these drugs and made it a disaster for the people that are in pain and need it to live and have a somewhat normal life. I am a drug and alcohol COUNSELOR and I still get treated like my clients at times. Thanks to all the drug dealers and addicts for making it this way. Smfh!!!
Re: Treefrog (# 62)
Absolutely wrong oxycontin is extended release oxycodone and percocet is oxycodone and acetominophen together. None of them are morphine. Please be cautious when giving this kind of information. And I strongly suggest everyone fact check responses on here. I am a former pharmacists and completely know and understand the chemical makeup of all these drugs. Oxycodone, oxycontin, roxicodone are all the same medication only differ in release mechanism. Percocet and roxicet are the same both oxycodone and acetominophen mixtures. Let's at least keep the drugs straight.
Take a look
I have IC also, had several er trips and saw numerous specialists before my urologist did a hydrodistion and biopsy and saw all the ulcers and bruising in my bladder and the biopsy came back full of WBCs. I had a er doc ask me why I was on enough meds for a cancer patient and how did I get social security disability, I was passing a kidney stone and wonder why they don't read up on ic before asking ridiculous questions
You have never so called been an addict so before you start judging the people who are and have been hooked on opiates stop talking crap and about stuff you have no earlthy idea about !! You don't know what it took for me to get off of those nasty horrible addictive pills!! It took me years to get it right once I had been prescribed them they took over my life. You have no idea obviously because your on here asking dumb ass ?s for a reason and or trying to answer them. Get a grip and if you ask me .. I would get off of all the pills altogether !!! Or you will never be able to get off them. Trust me take it from someone who has used
Who is your post directed to? There are many people who responded so you need to let us know who your post is being directed to. Thank you
Don't act dumb you know who my comment was directed towards.. Jesus. People get a life instead of on here talking or thinking how you are just a saint and nothing can happen to you.. Just wait girl, keep taking those pills and see how f'd up you'll be in a few years trying to get off them mfrs
Lisa I hear what ur saying and agree. I've been on pain meds of every kind for 20 years. I'm currently on oxycodone 15 q 4-6. I've had duragesic patches 100 mg. up to 3 at a time. The pharmacy had argument with Dr to fill it. My condition is chronic. I never experience withdrawal but feel bad for those who do. I also am pissed because all the people that abuse it R now making it hard for those who need it. The reason we don't withdraw is because our bodies r calling for it to exist. I also can take meds routinely an then just stop for days sorry guys it happens. I never get that high that people talk about.our bodies r calling for it because it's in pain not withdrawal. The problem with making it so hard to get is my Dr is now afraid to increase dose because I'll be red flagged an called in more often for U/A's and counts. It cost me $36 $ to take a cab. What will eventually happen is those that need it will turn to illegal drugs. I take meds as needed to stay out of hospital but also have good days where i take nothing.
Clubmemeber......I'm sorry to hear you suffer in place of getting the relief that's available, but agreed, the addicts have caused it to become very difficult for the folks that really need it. I'm lucky enough to have a caring doctor who won't let addicts get in the way of treating those who need it. My daughter and I have both had multiple back surgeries and she goes to the same practice I do, it's amazing how different they treat her compared to me, as she is in a different location with higher addicts. They are much stricter with her. I've been with my doc 7 years, she's been with hers 5 years. I hope you are able to get some relief and find a doc who won't stereotype you.
Oxycodone and Oxycontin are more different than just being IR vs ER. Do some basic research before talking s*** when you obviously don't have a clue as to what your talking about. SMH
1000% the same thing, a roxy is percocet (oxycodone) instant release. Oxycontin is also the same, just time released. Also of course a roxy doesn't have tylenol in them, nore do oxycontin.
You are a very rare person if you don't go through withdrawals when you stop cold turkey. I was forced to stop while transitioning from Houston to San Antonio and for those 2 weeks that I had nothing, I was in so much pain and the withdrawals were horrible, I wanted to die. I tried everything I could think of legally to help but nothing and I mean absolutely nothing out there helped. I almost lost my job because I could barely function at work. I would have to use the restroom close to 10 times in a 10 hour shift. It was unbareble. I had no appetite, no energy, I couldn't think straight and my body hurt everywhere. It was the worst thing I ever had to go through.
Re: Lisa (# 20)
Good reply, I once had a family doc.that said why do you chase that fix. I just said, doc, have you ever had pain that was not only daily, but, hurt your left testicle and pain down you legs that was a freezing pain in your calfs and low back pain that made you beg for a bullet. Seriously, it's that bad. He told me, up till now, I just thought you were chasing a fix, it's that bad. Again, doc, I've weaned off OxyContin 40 mg QID and Percocet 10 mg aid and do you think anyone in their right mind would go thru that for a fix.cmon doc. It has been a long road for the past 24 years and I've retired. Has anyone heard the government talk about the patients with valid prescriptions overdosing and or dying. Why ya think that is? Waiting on replies.
Re: Curious80 (# 64)
Thank you so much for correcting Treefrog's post. I've seen some bad information put out on this forum but that post is up there with some of the worst! For someone who admittedly has been on these medications for "years" that person has no idea what they were taking!
Re: Jason (# 65)
Thank yoi for the post. Sometimes I have received very negative posts when I try and correct misinformation. I have no intention of making anyone feel bad or insult them. I just want people to have a clear understanding of the medications they are prescribed or thinking of asking the doctor to take. I appreciate your kind post. My best to all. And if my doctor ends up putting me on the Xtampza I will post how it works for me.
Re: lisa (# 11)
If you were taking tremadol that's why you didn't have a withdrawal.
Yes dude, it's impossible to use these types of prescriptions and you won't be addicted. You are totally wrong when it comes to these prescriptions. All I can say is be very careful. These pills are no jokes at all. You can loose your brain, your thinking, mobility, etc. So on that note, see if you can get something that can help you with your pain, but less dangerous. Good luck, and God bless you sir.
Re: Cal (# 12)
Oxycontin is a brand name! Oxycodone is an ingredient used in opioids like Percocet. For those of you who are NOT chronic pain patients, learn the facts! I have lived in chronic pain, daily, since 1992! Twenty-six years of horrific pain because a Dr. didn't know what he was doing! Sixteen years later my spine decided to start spinning, like candy cane stripes. I walked completely bent over which was horribly painful. Two years ago I was blessed to find a Dr, who put 3 titanium rods and 38 screws in my back. The pain is not as severe, but due to the original damage to my back, I will ALWAYS be a pain patient. So if you haven't been there, don't assume! And if you are one of those who use off the street and have made getting treatment so difficult for those who need it, you'll never know ahead of time if something will happen to you and you need treatment for chronic extreme pain, I wish you luck finding a Dr who can adequately help you.
