40mg Lisinopril E104
UpdatedI have been taking Sandoz lisinopril 40mg oval pink pill for many years imprinted with E104 and my BP has been stable. Now the pharmacy changed it to the round lisinopril 40mg pink pill imprinted with same E104. My blood pressure is not being maintained now it fluctuates all over the place. I take it daily. Are there different fillers or inactive ingredients that is not agreeing with my system? I am a registered nurse so I know this is not the norm.

Hello, Veletta! How are you?
Actually, fluctuations are normal and you should see them, especially if you have caffeine, engage in physical activity or etc. For instance, if you're working and on your feet all day, it should be slightly higher than it is later, when you're home and at rest. This is true for any active person.
The concern would be if it's going too high, or high numbers when at rest. What type of numbers are you seeing? I'm sure you're aware of how high is too high.
Are you experiencing any other symptoms, such as headache, dizziness and trouble breathing?
The FDA lists the typical side effects for this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension.
If you are seeing numbers that concern you, it may just be time for you to try a different medication.
First, I am not a healthcare provider in any way. My mother has been taking Lisinopril 40 mg (Accord Healthcare; white/round/imprint 40) for many years with success in lowering her blood pressure. Her last prescription was filled with Lupin Pharmaceuticals (yellow/round/iprint LUPIN 40). This Lupin pill has not lowered her blood pressure as effectively as the other manufacturer. She did a test with the Accord pill (still had a few left) and it lowered her BP much better. We are working to get her supplied with the Accord Healthcare Lisinopril. From what I read, the "inactive" (binders and fillers) ingredients that may or may not be present in each brand are actually detrimental to how the drug is metabolized and used by your body.
Had a similar experience. Was on Sandoz lisinopril for 15 years, no problems. Pharmacy switched to Lupin brand (made in India), and it was as though I wasn't on any medication at all. BP way higher. Found a few of the Sandoz brand in my car, and just like that, back to normal.
Re: Bebe (# 2)
So many pharm companies are ripping us consumers off by putting less active ingredients and more filler garbage to raise their profits!! Consumers are suffering because of this nastiness!! Medicines need to be watched and regulated. And test kits should be available to the consumer to analyze the meds if they are not giving us the relief we need!!
