40 Mg Oxycodone Hcl Er Round Yellowish Pill

Was given this to take every 12 hours by my pain doctor due to severe pain and having to have spinal and neck surgery. It really doesn't help and now people are telling me it's generic. It has 40 on one side and op on the other side.

No, the tablets with the OP marking are manufactured by Purdue Pharma and they are the name brand Oxycontin.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

However, not every medication works for everyone that tries it, so you may need to try something else.

punkin: you would have to look at your rx bottle cuz it should say what maker/brand made it. Since Jan of 2014 Purdue is allowing some generic drug makers to make "authorized generic versions" of the 10mg, 20mg, 40mg, and 80mg strengths of Oxycontin. However they have to be made exactly the way that Purdue tells them and according to the information out there the generic makers have to pay for a license from Purdue to make a certain amount each year. This is why the "generics" are only a few bucks cheaper than the Purdue brand.

It's really a pathetic attempt to make it appear that there is competition to keep prices down when in reality Purdue is making all the money from sales of their brand and the generics as well. And prices keep going up.
