37 Mcg

Hi I am on 37 mcg of fentanyl patch, I was on a 50mcg and a 12 , I weaned myself slowly cutting my patch, my pain doctor doesn't want me to do that, so I went down a 12 mcg .. Sun now it's wed and withdrawal is starting and I feel miserable, I guess my question is, is there something to ease these symtoms, I was on them for fibro and then they say opiads don't work for fibro because over time it makes pain worse.. I don't know? I'm just trying a new path , has anyone had experience with this?

Hello, Debra! How are you feeling? I'm sorry that you're miserable.

Since you still have some and aren't just doing a full withdrawal, the symptoms should only last a week or so. However, if they are really severe, you should talk to your doctor about what you can do about them.

What medications will you be trying next?

Well I'm tapering down slowly, pm doc says it could take some time, I'm also on gabapentin it helps, withdrawals not to bad ,,, I'm not sure what other meds I'll be on but the goal is to discontinue the fentanyl ... Yikes lol thanks for asking
