Hello, Greg! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having.

They are both the same medication in the same dosage, they've just been manufactured by different companies, Watson and Qualitest respectively.

However, there can be differences between one generic to another, the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984 does permit an allowable difference in the amount of the active ingredients, by as much as plus or minus 20%. This is done with generics to create market competition to help keep prices down.

Thus, the new one you've received may be a little lower in the amount of the active ingredients, which may explain the problem. However, since the differences are usually very slight, your body will usually adjust in about a week, or so.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation.

Has there been any change?
