5 years ago my father had a double bypass and was prescribed Felodipine, Atenolol, and Clopidogrel. He is still taking them and now has signs of low blood pressure and orthostatic hypotension. He has confusion, dizzy spells, shakes, and has fallen several times now. is the 3 prescribed medications a common combination and/or can it be the cause of his recent episodes?

I have side effects from taking Lyrica for a severed nerve that a lady dentist did to me over 4 years ago.
1. joint pain
2. bloated stomach looks like I am 6 mo. pregnant
3. blurry vision
4. low grade headaches

Yes, prescribing several to get better control of blood pressure and to stabilize cardiac conditions is completely normal.
However, our bodies do change with time, so what worked well for years may suddenly start causing problems.
The Clopidogrel is used to prevent clotting, not to control blood pressure.

So that means that if his BP is going too low, the likely cuplrits would be the Felodipine and the Atenolol.

What you should really do is check his blood pressure and heart rate, when he's showing such symptoms, like the confusion, dizziness and shakiness, as well as when he first gets up in the morning. Then, you can see if it's going too low and report it to his doctor, in case he needs a medication adjustment.
