Hi I was wondering, if my prescription is only for 28 days, and not a full 30 days, would i be able to fill it on day 27? Beings that my prescription is only for 28 days i was told you could fill up to 2 days early on medication weather its a 28 or 30 day supply. If you have a 30 day supply u can fill it on day 28. But if it's only a 28 day supply I should be able to fill it atleast 1 day early right?

It depends on whether or not it is a controlled substance, and what your pharmacy's rules are, if you have insurance that can also play a role in how soon you can have it filled.

Due to DEA directives, most controlled substances cannot be filled until exactly when they are due, but things are generally more lax for other types of medications.

In most cases you can ask at your pharmacy and they will let you know when you can pick up a refill. I recently had a new prescription sent to my pharmacy, and I wanted to make sure it was filed with them, they told me yes, and were also able to tell me the specific day I would be able to pick it up. When I went in that day, they had it ready and waiting for me. But, it was not for a controlled substance.

Are there any other questions?
