250 Mg Of Amoxicillin For 12 Year Old (Top voted first)

My daughter is complaining her ear hurts and it is the holidays so the doctors are closed. I have amoxicillin 250 mg that was prescribed to my 2 year old. I know it's an ear infection I have 4 kids so I have been thru this plenty of times. Just not sure of the dosage to give her.

It is never a good idea to give a child a medication, unless their doctor approves and has prescribed it for them, at that age, it is dosed according to body weight, and the strength of the infection. Generally 20 to 30mgs per kilogram of body weight, every 8 to 12 hours.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.
