Is a 25mil fentanyl patch as strong as 40 mil of methadone?

I am taking 50 fentanyl patches but waiting for 3 days in between them is no good and I am now replacing the patches every 2nd day but the hours are different. The Notes for Patients are a scream. Says they don't even have an effect for the first 24 hours!!! That after removal of one the skin still has a reaction as it contains morphine anyway for some hours! If you can make sense out of these NFTP you are a magician.

From what I've read online, fentanyl is reportedly much stronger than methadone. But because the forms of administration are two worlds apart (one being a transdermal patch and the other being a pill), I honestly don't think there's such thing as an "equivalent dose" between the two; especially since each medication effects people differently.

Have you talked with your doctor yet about trying one or the other?
