The drugest said it came from Sun Drugs/ Caraco pharmaceutical
Laboratories. I couldn't ID the tablet elsewhere. Has anyone
seen this before?

Caraco is a very dirty company. They get the right amount of opium to make the pain pills yet put very little opium in the pills. They are probably selling it to other dirty companies for big profit and then making more profit off of these weak pills. I will not buy from this manufacturer again but I also won't shut up until Caraco is shut down.

Yes, I had a similiar experience and thought I was going thru withdrawal before deciding thatsome percentage of thier 30mg Oxy's do not have any Oxy (as opposed to all pils have ex. 10% less active ingredient. My back problems for decades give me insight into opoids.
My pharmacy will allow these phonies to be returned. I have also sought out analytical labs for sonfirmation of my hypothesis. Unfortunately, this will cost between $500 and $1500....would love to get this done and then sue the hell out of Caraco....expensive....but may do it anyway and then sue Caraco....considering....will contact counsel and see if they will pay for the analysis as a cost of filing a suit.

@Andrea and everyone else. As a former medical professional, I have exhausted all avenues of recourse. I ended up taking them anyway, despite the fact they did not work..I was tempted to send 3 tablets and $125- to a labaratory for a quantitative analyses of the tablets, but on Disbility, it was just a thought.
I have NO idea if these are still even being made-as the friendlky DEA has LIMITED the number of companies ALLOWED to make Oxycodone hcl

maybe you could get the phone numberof the drug company that makes the Oxycodone from the pharmacy and call the drug company or get the phone number of the drug company off of the internet by searching for the drug company by name. Call the company and tell them your dilima and see if they wont reimburse you for the 200 pills you have left. Afterall its not like a drug company cant afford to give someone a refund if their drug is ineffective. Hope you get something to work out for you. Sincerely Andrea

Great, my regular pharmacy was out...they contacted another pharmacy who asked, do you care who the manufacturer is? I innocently said no...and I got these do nothing pills by Caraco...they do nothing at first I thought is was me...then I remembered the question do you care who the manufacturer is...so the pharmisist knew that these were no good. obviously he had problems with them before, I will try tommorrow but I know that he wont take them back...so Im screwed...a whole months worth...wow...what can I do? please help

Those tablets you described are made in NJ by Sun Pharma for Caraco pharma...I had UNTOLD TROUBLE with these particular tablets as they DID NOTHING for my pain.

You'll notice they are 3 to 5 times the size...Why?-Because there is MORE filler in them than in other mfr's products. I had to file a report with the FDA-(adverse reaction report). It didn't do anything but my pharmacist would NEVER Take them back-My BEST advice is to contact your Dr. at once!! explain the issue/problem and FORFEIT THOSE TABS TO HIM/HER-If you do that, he can LEGALLY write you a replacement RX-If you have insurance-you'll have to contact them too.GOOD luck

On a related note, you can identify these, or any other tablets/pills/capsules at drugs.com and look for "Pill Finder"-enter your info and thereya go!~I use this regularly-It's a great thing

I am a pharmacy technician. Yes, the 224's are a generic version of the oxycodone 30mg tablets. They are just larger in size than the other ones. So if thats the medication you needed, you got the right product.

UPDATE: My complaint to the FDA got a "case number"
What I, or ANYONE else, can do is request a "adverse incident report"-Beware, this report ONLY lists problems with THE FORMULATION (or Drug), NOT THE SPECIFIC MANUFACTURER.
I agree to the above comment: Complain to your Pharmacist, Physician AND to the FDA, in ADDITION-CONTACT CARACO Pharma,(In MI).
A complaint DIRECTLY to the Mfr. will get you a form letter, but you will have notified them of something vital.
These 30mg Oxycodone HCL preparation 30mg tabs, ARE INNEFFECTIVE!~ They are-embossed with "224" obverse and a scored-line, reverse. The light blue tablets are VISIBLY MUCH LARGER than any other generic brand.
Good luck to all.Bottom line for me-I was S.O.L. as no one is allowed to take a return on any CII medication.
PEACE

In regards to the issue being debated regarding the light blue tablets with the "224" imprint, they are purportedly generic 30 mg. immediate release oxycodone tablets made by Caraco Pharmeceuticals. I have been given this generic formulation by my pharmacist for the last three monthly prescriptions, and agree that they do not seem to have a similar amount of active ingredient in them. Indeed, my opinion is that it takes at least three of these tablets to equal a 30 mg manufactured elsewhere. We ALL need to complain ti the FDA.
