2012 Oxycodone 30mg Shortage In Florida (Page 31) (Top voted first)

Updated

My spouse, who is in severe, chronic pain, has been a customer of Walgreens for many years. We live in Pinellas County, Florida. Everyday this week we have driven from Walgreen's to Walgreen's trying to fill his prescription for Roxicodone 30mg, to no avail. I cannot get any help from his regular pharmacy. I know that it's dangerous for them to tell a total stranger which store has them in stock, but I don't understand since they know him, why they can't call around or give us any assistance. I am at a total loss as to what to do & would appreciate any information that you could provide. It is so hard to see him in so much pain. Thank you.

And those bullies are screwing with most of us, and the chain stores don't even wanna bother carrying them. No luck and at mom and pop pharmacies either. I've already said, the small pharmacy who has filled.my.opana for last 2 months told me dont ask for roxycodone or dilaudid bc he won't fill either. Stupid as opana is.part each of those narcotics. That's bc the roxycodone and dilaudid are cheap. Opana is not. Just goes to show what bs this whole situation is. Were all puppets on their strings, and the way things as looking, there'll be no c2's@ all in near future. Why are the lucky few who are still able to fill roxycodone not understanding? This thread wasn't started bc were having a good time. Your time will come when you do understand. Most of us were cut off w/ no warning. Good luck

The WalGreens you use could have the script filled for you or transfer the script to that store. This has all become a big game with the DEA in the lead position. If guidelines were put into effect prior stating how many pills per patient per month this would not be happening. =There is a problem with all this but the people who need this medication because a legit physical problem are suffering because of the DEA thinking they know whats best and basically saying that most Dr don't know what they are doing or what they are doing is illegal. Again with the damn Government sticking they're noses where they don't belong

I beg to differ with you about opana ingredients. It is part oxycodone and part hydromorphone. (Dilaudid) . I guess
The street names are roxy and dillys? Sorry not familiar with the latter name. Anyway, it doesn't have morphine in them. Fyi.

Opana(oxymorphone) is a metabolite of oxycodone just like dilaudid(hydromophone) is a metabolite of hydrocodone which basically means is your liver transform one drug into the other just like codeine is transformed into morphine look it up why if most of the pill mills are shut down and we have a computer system to stop dr shoppers is is it harder to get meds cuz the dea are now bullying the pharms robberies and herion addiction will go way up way to go big brother

well I will say this,There is no 18 yr old to 25yr old that needs to be taking no 8 to 10 oxycodones a day,on top of all the other things these pill mills prescribe to them, just out of school an haven't worked a day in there life, they are only thinking about the High from them,Until they cannot get them no more then they have pain from not taking them,Thats whats wrong with this f world today, all the young people think there parents owe them a free living an if they dont give them money when they ask them for it,then they will steal it from them an whatever else they can get there hands on to sale an get what they want,it sure is alot worse now then when I was growing up,now kids think there above flipping hamburgers to earn a pay check an be a responsible person an pay there own way,so yea go to drugs an destroy your entire life an be dead from it eating up your liver an causing other problems,I watch these kids run into the pharmacy to get there scripts filled,I am lucky to walk into the pharmacy as it is,then to watch these little junkies who thinks its a big joke to be ripping there life apart when there is not a thing wrong with them an go to these pill mills an get these retired Doctors who cannot read a MRI let alone anything else, just to get there money they will tell them anything, while there sitting back taking your money feeding you 4 or 5 different types of pills each month an your ruining your entire life an you helping them get rich, when you OD they have another stupid idiot to take your place on keeping them in business,Until the Idiots in the DEA office an Goverment close them all down an make everyone go to a regular primary care Doctor an then if he thinks your bad enough he will send you to a real pain clinic who does shots first an dont just give you things to cause you to Die young or help you continue to be a junkie, theres more to life then a High for all you young people taking pills you dont need,Try being a responsible adult an going out an working like the rest of us did that has real severe chronic pain from being in wrecks-falls or working our asses off all our life,This is the only state that will allow pill mills to come here an give kids pills,Wonder why no other State allows it,I know cause they Have DEA an Goverment offices that have People working in them that aren't stupid an care about what happens to kids unlike Florida they could care less if you live or Drop dead they have Proven that when they let the first pill mill open there Door

Panic is ABSOLUTELY right...(to the person who claims they have never had a problem filling meds). Get ready for it! I, too, never had a problem until September 2012!! One of the major distributors, Cardinal, lost priveleges to sell and send meds to a huge amount of pharms in Florida. It is just a matter of time. I am getting off of all these meds and going to deal with the pain. Thank goodness I'm having surgery. Anything is better than dealing with driving to 100 pharms for a month, repeatedly. I am a professional trying to live my life and have to take time of work to find my meds?? The days of being able to relieve our pain with the proper medication are over. Hate to say it, but it's true. The only thing that will help is if the DEA backs off....but don't see that happening. Everyone thinks we(ppts) are alllll scumbags(which I know we are not). Sadly, I have been to soooo many pharms this month, they all know me by name and face now. Guess that was one benefit. Crazy!! I am done with this RAT RACE! I would rather live in pain at this point.

Dude go look up the pill hydromorphone is dialaudid and oxymorphone is opana. So how can opana be part dilaudid if its hydromorphone when opana is oxymorphone its converted to morphine, but u saying that an opana is part dilaudid ur sadly mistaken, there's no hydro in opana its oxy

@ my aim is truth,I just want to say whoever does your surgery make sure there well known an have alot of them under there belt-I would have never let them touch me but I had no choice my back blew out an had to have it done asap or take a chance on going parilized,I had severe stenoises at L4 L5 an they said they removed 2 herniated Disc while he was in there,3 months later both legs were numb on the outsides from hip to my ankle an I had pain shooting down my right leg,I go have another MRI done to see some how I have another Large herniated Disc at the same identical place on the right side of L4L5 so I had it removed again an when I was told to get up 5hrs after I felt something tear in my lower right back an have paid dearly every since,so If you havent tried steriod shots or the radioactive waves they do now you might want to try that before letting them open you up.after they do back surgery your never right again,I am going to have to have a fusion now because of this last surgeon

I dont really care what Opana is made out of,I do know this it doesn't work as well as oxycotin 80mg that I been on for 5yrs,an watch soon cause they leave these GD pill mills open they will not be able to fill none of them either for no one or nothing else-Until these Idiots who call there self DEA an Goverment workers in this State close Down all these side road get rich fast places who dont do nothing but give pills out an dont Do shots or nothing else cause there to retarded to for one thing, you have to have a brain to be able to read MRI's an offer other types of treatments to people then to just start them on 240 30mg oxycodones-60 40mg oxycotins-60 350mg somas-an 30 10mg valium to everyone that enters there office if you have 500.00 up front to pay them an 350.00 to get a MRI they dont care how old you are they just are there for your Money not your health,They Could care less about what or whats not wrong with you,There is not no young kid that should be taking no 8 oxycodones a day, thats what they give to Cancer paients, not young kids who havent worked a day in there life, they shouldnt be allowed to take young people in there office unless they were referred by a regular primary Doctor,You Dont see No other of the 52 states allowing pill mills ,Only the State of Florida,So that tells me that the DEA an Goverment of this State are the dumbest Idiots alive,And I am sure there getting paid off at the DEA agents office to the guys they send to the clinics an tell them to pay them or they will shut them Down,Cause its all about Money in this World,They Dont care about no one but them self, there Mother could be on oxycotins for severe pain an they would watch her suffer,Thats how stupid they are in this State, they should Hire people who have a brain instead of Hiring People who take brives from pill mills to stay in business

I had my doc switch me from Oxy to Hydromorphone because I had a script since May that I could not get filled. Took me four days to find a pharmacy in Orlando that had Dilaudid. Up until May I had been getting my Oxycodone filed at Walgreens in Ocoee for 2 years with no problems and then the pharmacist told me they wouldn't be getting them in anymore period.
