2 Weeks Of Breakthrough Bleeding On First Pack? (Top voted first)

i started my first pack on the first day of my period on the 18th and though my period usually only lasts about 4 days, i've been lightly albeit consistently bleeding ever since. it's now 10 days later and i'm going nuts. my boyfriend is coming back from traveling for over a year next week and i'd really like to not be still spotting gross brown discharge when he gets here. will it stop or am i doomed to 3 months of this?

Hello, Emz! How are you? Sorry about the problem that you're having.

This doesn't mean that it will continue for all 3 months, but it is possible.

Have you contacted your doctor? You might want to do so, just to be sure and to see what they say you should do.

I started taking loloestrin 10 mcg on 12/1/14, had no bleeding for a week and then started "breakthrough Bleeding" It's now 1/15/15 and I have had bleeding everyday. It's not terrible huge bleeding but a consistent light bleed. I have 2 submucosal fibroids and had heavy periods. The doctor put me on this and told me to only take"active" pills (blue), when I called the office they told me to stay on them that this bleeding sometimes takes 3 months to resolve. Is this correct? It's really annoying. I have heard that sometimes the dose is too low and causes this bleeding, but I'm 47 and concerned about taking a higher dose of estrogen. Should I just stay on this and see if it works itself out. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank You!!
