2 Scripts From 2 Different Doctors
UpdatedI have a condition where I cannot absorb the electrolyte phosphorous and so I have to take it orally every day to stay alive. I take the prescription supplement kphos, which is potassium phosphate. I just changed insurance and the doctor who had been managing me wrote me a script for a year of kphos. I got a new doctor right away who wrote me a script for the necessary amount and I've been taking that.
Here's my question: can I take two different scripts from two different doctors to two different pharmacies and cash them both? Should I do insurance for one but not the other? It is NOT a scheduled drug or a controlled drug, but an electrolyte supplement. The only reason i want to do this is to have extra on hand in case something happens with my doctor or insurance, because not taking this supplement will kill me (I came very close to death a few times when undiagnosed.)
