1st Timer: Advise Please

Hello, Im Cia. My daughter is 8 and this is her 1st time taking Concerta18. I have pondered on whether to give it to her or not and even had to get another prescription from the Dr because I let the 1st one expire. My thing is desperately need her doing better in school. She will ball up perfectly good paper one sheet at a time and throw them away one at a time. She purposely breake her pencil lead just so she can get up and go to the sharpener. Meddling other kids along the way!!. At home she is the same way. She recently brought home a 25 as a class grade in Math (her best subject). I made up my mind then to at least try it. I know there is someone else out there that can ease my mind about giving this to my little girl. I have read some of the postings and believe the Dr informed me quite well about it and i've been researching my own. I don't have any specific questions right now i just need a little reassuring. I wanted to give her a dose tomorrow and observe her MYSELF instead of the teacher and i not know what to expect for myself. Thank you for your time and concern to this posting!! Cia

Out of 5 kids 2 have adhd. I had a hard time with giving my oldest child meds when he was first diagnosed. I went to 3 doctors and got even more scared. Then I just thought it cant hurt to just see what the meds will do. I can always stop them. I was so glad to have my son back! There will always be people out there that see it at as bad or feel that my parenting should have been better. Only you know whats best for your child. You wouldnt be at a dr if you didnt care. Foclin has worked best! Didnt like cocerta! Everyone is diff. Good Luck!
