169 Oval Pill

I have an oval shaped pill that has the number 169 on it but it was not in its original bottle what is it for

I wasn't able to locate an exact match to your description, as you didn't mention what color the pill is that you are referring to. I did however find a pill marked "961" as opposed to "196" that is white and oval shaped. Is there any chance that you may have misread the marking?

If so, I would've located the pill in description to be Clonidine HCL (0.1 mg).

It has been prescribed historically as an antihypertensive drug, but has found new uses, including treatment of some types of neuropathic pain, opioid detoxification, sleep hyperhidrosis, anaesthetic use, and off-label, to counter the side effects of stimulant medications such as methylphenidate or amphetamine. It is becoming a more accepted treatment for insomnia, as well as for relief of menopausal symptoms. Clonidine is increasingly used in conjunction with stimulants to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Clonidine can also be used in the treatment of Tourette syndrome, furthermore as a mild sedative; and can be used as premedication before surgery or procedures. It may also be used to ease withdrawal symptoms associated with the long-term use of narcotics, alcohol and nicotine (smoking). In addition, clonidine has also been used for migraine headaches and hot flashes associated with menopause.
