15 Mg Morphine Vs Vicodin 7.5
UpdatedMy Doc prescribed me 15 mg of Morphine. Ive been on vicodin 7.5 mg for three years. How much of a difference is morphine? I took half of the blue pill just now.

The Morphine is stronger than the Hydrocodone in the Vicodin, it is also a straight narcotic, without the Acetaminophen that is in the Vicodin.
It sounds like your doctor is trying to help you get better control of your pain.
The main issue here is, what type of Morphine pills are they?
If they are the time released version, generics for MS Contin, then cutting the pill in half could be very dangerous and should not be done. It can cause you to have too much of the medication released at once.
The side effects are similar and may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth.

Do you know what type of Morphine it is?
I have 15mg morphine pills. They are small and blue. THink they are time released. Can I take more than one at a time? Or is that dangerous? SOmeone please help because taking one isnt taking away my pain AT ALL! Thankkk you
Dear Doodle Bug,
It's not a good idea to take more than one pill of the 15mg Morphine slow release tablets at one time if it's not what your doctor prescribed. What you're experiencing sounds like called Break-Through Pain, and what some Pain Doctors&Pharmacists sometimes do, is have the patient on a continuous dosage of the slow release 15 mg Morphine, every day, then also prescribe a shorter duration acting morphine to level off the break through pain, when the regular continuous 15 mg slow release Morphine isn't enough. If a patient is having too much break-through pain and having to take the break-through morphine too often, that means that the dosage/drug type needs to be re-accessed again by the Pain Team physician and his pharmacist.. could be that you need to be on a different dosage or different pain med... or could be other complications.. so the best thing would be to stick to your prescription instructions and get in to see your doctor ASAP. It would be good to tell him that you're having a lot of break through pain and that the morphine you're currently on isn't taking care of the pain you're experiencing daily..
***But, basically, don't deviate from the instructions on the morphine bottle and talk to your doctor as soon as possible to figure out what's going on and how to resolve it... Hope that helps... and also, it's dangerous to take more than what's prescribed, could make you very sick or overdose... so ... take care and hope it gets better ,hope you can see your doctor soon. Pain is hard, hang in there.
is it dangerous to drink a beer or two while taking morphine cr 15
I have been taking Norco 10/325 for 2 months. I take anywhere from 2-4 per day. I am 6'4" and 340 lbs. For my first time taking morphine sulfate 15 sr xan I cut into 4 pieces and swallow, or should I just swallow the whole 15mg tablet?
I have small round blue/green tablets with 15 on them and under the "15" it’s got "mg", so 15mg. On the other side they are blank. Also, there’s no score line through it. Is this morphine? Thanks in advance for any help.
